    hi Skip, Is this function available in Word 2000? I could only find "text to table" (which will screw up the table as the texts are already in a table) More assistance please. :)

    Thanks for your advice. I know doing in excel will be easy. But as I said, the file contains 3 million lines and I don't think excel can support such a large number of lines. Any idea to do it in Word (or wordpard, notepad)?

    I don't know anything about VBA. I have a file with 3 million lines of data (it's actually a txt file). Is there a way to delete lines in a certain pattern e.g. in every 5 lines, keep the 1st line and delete the remaining 4. Thank you very much!!

    Is there any way to insert Section Page No. and Total Page No. independently under a same document? Which means: e.g. in the header: Section Page 1 of 6 in the footer: Total Page 34 of 209 my problem is the page field codes (1 & 34 as above) under the same page always show the same number...
