Matt, Robert, Thank you both for your responses. I have tried typing in http://66.218.71.198 into IE and I get the Yahoo page not found error. Another thing that I tried is to use VPN to connect to my office network. The VPN connection goes through fine. I am able to ping multiple UNIX servers...- gsankaran

Matt, I have set the DNS servers - both primary and secondary - on the laptop to be the same as the desktop. I have also checked IE settings between the two - they are the same. The laptop is on XP Professional while the desktop is on XP Home. While I am using the SMC2635W wireless PCMCIA card...- gsankaran

I have tried to set up a wireless connection on my laptop. I am able to ping IP addresses from the laptop but am unable to use Internet Explorer to display the sites.
