VSE 7.10 on w2k3 cluster install problem

Hi, I'm trying to install VisruScan Enterprise on a w2k3 file cluster, but the installation fails on both nodes. The installation takes ages in the 'Installing McAfee Framework' phase, and when that finishes, McShield fails to start. McLogEvent logs the following (event 5019): Exception in...

Add realtime spam protection to your Exchange 2003

With the majority of spam coming from hacked home computers, is there a more or less reliable blacklist for Dial-up/broadband IP address spaces?

COM component working on win2k, not working on win2k3

Hi, I have a COM component (written in Visual J++) that runs fine under Windows NT and Windows 2000 but fails under Windows Server 2003. It is intended to use with ASP/IIS. On the W2k3 server, I have installed MSJVM build 3810. Upon creation of the object, either through ASP on the web site or...

How to shut down the Server Cluster?

No, just take the resource groups off-line. And, use the cluster manager tool. In general, it's a bad idea to fiddle with the service manager tool on a cluster, unless you know exactly what you're doing.

    Cluster Resource

Do you use multiple adapters teamed together? For some odd reason, newer drivers did not work for me last time I had to solve this issue (in fact, the new drivers did not work at all for these particular Broadcom fiber cards). I ended up breaking the team and disabling all but one fiber NIC...

    Cluster Resource

So, it happens after you perform a fail-over from node A to node B. For a while connections to node B are available, then they are dropped. What happens when you reboot node A after the fail-over? If that does the trick, your network card (Broadcom?) setup might need some revision. See...

    SMS 2.0 advertisement problem

I'm trying to configure some per-user settings without creating a huge login script. I'll try to put them in a MSI package and use the ALLUSERS parameter. Thanks.

    SMS 2.0 advertisement problem

That's why I stopped reading... [upsidedown] I'm still stumped over the F5 issue. It appeared SMS was capable of doing this.

    SMS 2.0 advertisement problem

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;271122 Am I misinterpreting something or is the "Advanced Scenarios" section in mentioned article bogus? Why does it work when I press F5 in APM to refresh the screen?

    SMS 2.0 advertisement problem

Servers: SMS 2.0 SP5 on W2K SP3 Clients: Windows XP When I create a mandatory advertisement for a program that should run ASAP for every user that logs on, it only runs the program for the first user. For the next user that logs on, the advertisement does not show up at all in Advertised...

Yes, but you may want to look into the Installshield Tuner for Acrobat first. You can download it from Adobe's web site.

Office XP: Unexpected keyboard layout change

We have a number of users that use a "standard" US keyboard instead of a Dutch keyboard. For those users, we have included the US keyboard layout as well in our client image.

Office XP: Unexpected keyboard layout change

I have a multilingual client (English/Dutch) with a Dutch keyboard. Some users report that when they are using Office XP, the keyboard settings revert from Dutch to US. Some users report this within Outlook, other within Word or Powerpoint. I have found the following article and applied the...
