Hi
I've updated our firewall (a pix 525) from 7.04 to the latest release and after that the DHCP via VPN seems to fail. Before the clients got their addresses form two internal servers via a dhcp-server statment under the tunnel-group.
After the upgrade it work fine for a while but after a...
Hi
I've managed to solve the matter. It turns out that the command DNSCMD adds a "." to the end of a CNAME-record. This is interpreted as a FQDN.
When I add the CNAME-racord via the admin tool in Windows it works fine.
Thanks for the answer.

Hi
I'm new to the ISA 2004 and need some help.
I'm trying to split my internal network in two 192.168.1.0/24(A) and 192.168.2.0/24(B). The reason is that the clients on the network are forced to authenticate using AD and the B network isn't using AD yet. So I try to create a new network in...
Hi
I'm trying to set up an environment using a Win2003 DNS as primary server and a Linux-based Bind (unsure of the version but it isn't the newest installation) as a secondary DNS. I get the zone transfers to work just fine but there seems to be some problem with how the different servers...
Hi
I'm going to migrate the zones in two Bind servers to a couple of DNS servers on Win2003Srv. Is there an easy (read automatic) way to do this? I'm familiar with both coping the .txt-files and setting up a secondary zone but both of these involve some manual steps (like creating the zone...
Hi
I'm having a trouble with a Cisco USB client adapter WUSB54GP on an Windows Xp. The trouble is that the adapter starts to late for the logon script to run and therefor the user doesn't get any mappings. Does anyone have any idea how to make it start faster. Is it possible to run the program...
Hi
I'm trying to set up a mailbox with multiple recipients but to no avail. Here's the details:
We're running an application that sends notification emails when something goes wrong etc. I want these emails to be sent to a group address and then distributed to serveral individuals. I've got AD...
Hi
I've recently started using offline folders to sync my files. The problem is that the sync just places all of the files in one folder and doesn't retain the original folder structure. It makes it kind of hard to find the correct files.
Is there any way to retain the folder/directory...
Perhaps not a solution based on DHCP but I would set up a separate VLAN on the port they connect to. That way you can handle the trafic just as you like.

Hi
Does anyone know a good whois for the .tv top domain? I tried www.tv but get the message that I should try at whois.nic.tv:43. The latter I get a 404 when trying to visit.
Another question, is there a suitable tool from which I can run a whois without using the webpages of the registrar...
Yep, checked it and it looks OK there but still it won't reply correctly to a dig.
Does anyone know what the option set vc(viritual circuit) does in nslookup? How does it affect the question to the DNS-server?

If the router works ok it should be a sound solution. No need to install a windows server. Verify that the computers are connected ok and that the router works. Othervise you might want to replace it. My guess is that your clients got an IP like 169.254.x.x. This is the range from which the os...
Hi
First, a dynamic IP shouldn't affect your ability to get on the Internet. For instance, my router sometimes hang during thunderstorms and I have to restart it. I guess satelite can be just as itchy as ASDL. To solve the problem I would get at tool like 3dtraceroute and run a continous trace...
