I had the same problem as you...tried at least a dozen times to download the damn thing! Always got a time out from the remote CA server after downloading about 400MB. I even got a CA support call but they were not much help saying that they didn't have any problems downloading. I was only...
Just a thought for something for you to try. In the policy manager there should be a policy called ping. This is normally set to reject incoming pings. Could this be why you can't ping the servers from the outside?

gmail2,
We have had a satellite VPN link running at a remote location for about 2 years now for access to the kinds of things you want.
When we first installed it we used an RDP connection and were quite disappointed with the results because of the latency. However, once we installed citrix...
I see, sorry I didn't realise. Have you made the appropreate security changes in IIS under 'default website' - 'ExchWeb'?
From my vague memory of setting it up, changes made in SMTP virtual server are overriden by IIS settings.
Nuzzy,
Have you tried following these excellent articles?
I followed the first and had SSL up and running in about half an hour.

Hi hope some one can help me with this one as I am just about out of ideas.
Have e2k3 enterprise running and recently created and installed my own cert so that a few users can access via secure OWA.
This appears to be working fine, every one gets access ok via https and they are happy...
danb7 - have just finished what you plan without any major hitches.
As Neill says, you have to run forestprep and domainprep prior to installation of ex2k3 - 1st time must be run from your ops master (usually your primary DC). This prepares the 2000 AD for 2003 schema. Once you have done that...
Have you hidden the DL email address in exchange and do you run some kind of anti spam software?
If this is the case, your anti spam prog may not recognise hidden addresses and therefore treats it as an unknown address and puts it some where else (usually in a folder some where).
I had this...
Have recently installed a new ex2k3 enterprise server and moved all mailboxes over from the old ex2k box (all went fine). Users are using outlook 2003.
The problem I have is that some users cannot get their O.O.A. to run.
As soon as they try and set it a popup window appears with "The O.O.A...
Dave,
I have had the same issues as you. We tried to run a client/server access db across a vpn connection without any luck. Reading up on the subject it says that this sort of thing is not recommended over vpn due to overhead/latency issues etc.
You may have to look else where for a solution...
We have had similar problems with more than one client wishing to connect at the same time from a remote site. We have a similar setup except we use a Netgear DG834 router.
First user connects fine, but when the second concurrent one tries - no joy.
The problem which you might be having is...
Shoot me if I am wrong, but as far as I was aware you cannot run disk defrag from a scheduled task.
If you want disk defrag to run at set times you need to buy a 3rd party product like diskeeper.
