When you create a hard drive image, it is basically a blank hard drive. If you want to install, you have to do it from either a bootable CD (make sure its captured) or with a boot floppy image of some sort.

What seems like Eons ago, I downloaded the 5.0.4 update in anticipation of upgrading to OSX 10.2.x (I ended up with 10.2.6). When I tried to run the installer, it says I don't have 5.0 (or 5.1 or 5.2.... you get the idea) and it quits. No matter what I do it won't update the version I have...
