    I have this same problem also on vairous machines. The quick fix that I found was to have a couple of copies of XP handy.     Try checking the Event Viewer (right click My Computer>Manage>Event Viewer) for any information about problems that may be occuring. It may be a problem with a service failing to start.

    Try going to Control Panel and choosing Add or Remove Programs. Choose Add/Remove Windows Components. Deselect Internet Explorer and select Next. After IE has been removed go through the formentioned steps only this time reselect IE in the Add/Remove Windows Components. This should work for you.

    WinDVD error

    I had the same problem. I set the screen resolution to 800x600 and the color quality to the lowest setting (Medium). It worked fine for me after that.

    Go into My Computer, right click your cd-r drive and choose Properties. Click on the AutoPlay tab and adjust to your preference.
