    ethernet connections dropping

Think I got it. Made sure the cable was x-over and ended up with 100 and half duplex. This seems to do the trick. Will know for sure when we try to cutover tonight. Thanks for the help.

    ethernet connections dropping

when i changed speeds it would show up on the console as f0/1 is up...then it would say it was down and it would stay down. i have tried both types of cord and believe it needs the x-over - i just unplugged our adsl modem and plugged it into the router. the pix is set up to use the...

    ethernet connections dropping

I have a new 1841 for our T1 connection and the ethernet interfaces won't stay up. If we change the speed to 10 it will come up for a second or two then drop, change it to 100 and the same thing happens. I haven't done much router work and what I do know I learned from setting up our pix 501's...

    remote printing with hp 6110

Thanks for the script, I will give it a try and see what happens with their home computer. I have downloaded both the basic feature and full solution software. They just refuse to load on the 2K server. When you run setup they check system compatibility and when they see 2K server they stop the...

Setup 2 NIC on Windows 2000 Server

A little confusing. Are you connecting another computer up to the nic2 card and trying to run through the server to the router and out to the net? If so, then you need to use the ip of the nic1 card as the default gateway for nic2. wkStation --> nic2[addr:10.0.0.2,default gateway:192.168.1.2]...

    remote printing with hp 6110

I know this is kind of a specific question, hopefully someone out there has come up against this before. One of my remote users just bought a new printer, the hp 6110xi. I need to load the drivers onto our terminal server so she can print to this printer at home from the ts. The drivers refuse...

vpn client and pix 501- doesn't ask for user login

Didn't realize you were talking about the vpn area. Are you are talking about the "manage users" in the "L2TP/PPTP client" section? Is this where your access group is set up? Are the clients using L2TP/PPTP? Mine are using the cisco VPN client - not L2TP/PPTP so I can't really help in that...

vpn client and pix 501- doesn't ask for user login

If I understand what you are asking - why doesn't the user/pass stuff you configured in the PDM get asked for on connecting? I'm pretty sure that the manage users section in the PDM is for setting up user access to the pix itself(PDM). This is where you enable a user to access/change the pix...

vpn client and pix 501- doesn't ask for user login

I'm pretty sure that's the way it should be. I haven't tried it out, but I think if you take the username/password out of the .pcf config file it will ask you. I change the user/pass on a regular basis and issue new .pcf files to our remote users so I can keep track of who can get in. You...

Pix 501 and 2 internal servers

When you say you want both to have unique global addrs, do you mean public ip's? The PIX-501 can only have one outside addr. As for the http and ftp, you probably need to use port forwarding and if you want to split the ftp duties, they will need to use different ports.

    VPN - remoteVPN printing

I am using the cisco VPN client for users to access our network through a pix501. After connecting, they use remote desktop to run programs off our terminal server. I am trying to set it up so a user can print from the remote desktop to a printer at their home. But: I can't see my...
