Hi,
We use Akibia located here in Massachusetts. I've gone through 3 other vendors in the last 5 years and they are the best so far. The company seems stable and the support is excellent.
My sales person is Bruce Hutchinson bhutchinson@akibia.com, perhaps he can help you out.

Hello,
I am looking for a small, cheap, used mainframe system that I can use for development and testing. I don't have any background in mainframes and I'm looking for a way to get hands-on experience.
Can anyone suggest specific equipment (model #'s) and an idea of what it would cost (I'm...
Hi jbotz,
Is this server also a print server? Also, are there any new/unusual events in the EventViewer?
I'm currently troubleshooting a related issue and I've been pointed in many directions. Here is a list of things to check out:
1. try to update spoolsv.exe, MS KB Q828153
2. if the...
Thanks for the reply kmcferrin!
Is there another way to accomplish what I'm trying to do? I want to force people to upgrade to SP4 but not penalize users who already made the transition.
I have also allowed an employee (not an Admin) to add PC's to a separate OU using Netdom, and I want to...
Hi,
I'm using a GPO to roll out Service Pack 4 and it works fine except that it even installs on PC's that already have SP4 installed. How can I configure the GPO so that MSI's are only installed if they don't already exist?
Thanks
Marc
Thanks everyone - those are some helpful tips. I'm starting to work with Windows Server 2003 so I'll definitely try the GPMC.
As for Exchange, DNS, DHCP, etc. settings, I guess I'll resort to screenshots and note-taking.
Thanks again
I'd like to document both. For example, I just made some changes to the Group Policy -> Password Policy and now I'm going to make a bunch of changes in other places. At some point it will work "perfectly" and I'd like to get a snap-shot of what I had to do to get it in that...
Hello,
I am fairly new to Windows Server administration and I come from a Unix background. I am used to making changes to text files (*.conf) to configure software and services. I have gotten in the habit of regularly checking these text files into source control (CVS) so that I have a good...
Hi Patrick,
I would recommend doing this work in phases so that you are not trying to do the most complicated thing first, especially if you lack Solaris and Apache experience.
1. Just try to compile a basic version of Apache 2.0 and get it working with static HTML on port 80.
2. Then I would...
Thanks for the tip! I looked all around but I couldn't find the place to control "Skip files larger than 2GB". I checked the documentation and found the following reference:
ERROR 3932 Skip file - Too large.
Module: Task Engines
Explanation: The file is too large and was skipped...
Hello,
I have some very large files on a Solaris 8 server that I'm trying to back up. I am using the UNIX agent and ARCserve 2000 on Windows 2000 Server. Smaller files in the same directory that are a few hundred megabytes in size, do appear in the backup manager and back up fine...
brontosaurus - you're question led me to do some more testing and I was able to resolve the issue. Thanks!
I did some research on the Microsoft Support site and found the following very helpful:

Hi Nick - I'm trying to do exactly this and I don't see what the final solution was in the FAQ. Can you please let me know what you did to make it work?
Thanks
Marc
sendmail.domain.com replies with a LAN address. This mail server is not directly exposed to the Internet. My intent is to have mail from the Internet go to the Exchange server and then be forwarded to sendmail.domain.com on the LAN. This technique will let me publish addresses like...
When I do an "ipconfig /all", only my internal DNS shows up. I also did an "nslookup", then "set q=mx" and then entered sendmail.domain.com. Nslookup replied with an MX record that points to sendmail.domain.com, so as far as I can tell, the Exchange server should...
