Yes, I know. But there was a tool (I think made by 3rd party) that used NBU tape and acted as a local drive which could be used by BRMS. Unfortunately it seems this doesn't exist anymore.
Hello, did anybody achive this? I'm searching if it's possible to backup AS/400 to NetBackup (we have currently 5.1). I've found some projects, but it seems they are not alive anymore.

Maybe try to to create a special diskpool (doesn't have to be big) and mgmt class for directories and use dirmc in your client opt file. Use the diskpool as target for the new mgmt class. Then run selective backup you mentioned above and try the restore.
