OK had a look at this tool and it is indeed very good and would do what we wanted if the computers were not seperated from the SMS server that the server cannot pass through.
Looks like i am going to have to visit 400 computers to redetect the site (this does work so maybe i can do it with a...
I have 2 SMS sites up and running using SMS 2003, one was a fresh install and one was an upgrade from SMS 2.0
The problem that i have is that all of the clients have joined the fresh install because an error was made when adding the site boundries.
We have removed the incorrect subnet from the...
It will probably say that with most drivers you try, because you have changed the driver name in the .inf file it will not be on the HCL in the system so it will give that error.
It will do the same with any driver that was created or released after the version of windows you are using was made...
If i remember correctly it should be in the post above. In the driver that you are trying to install make sure that you have the unpacked one and not the exe.
Then go into the .inf file. In there in about 3 places there is a reference to the printer that you are installing with the driver...

Need help, we have a parent domain and a child domain running windows 2003 and exchange 2000.
When trying to change passwords through outlook web access the child domin gets
"The specified domain or username did not exist."
If you add the domain suffix to the username...
There are no problems with this as long as you have a volume license or select version of windows.
If you do you will not have to register each pc as it knows that they key is for your organisation not just one pc like the retail version.
Also the best thing to do is learn how sysprep works...
If you install the 2003 admin tools on the 2000 workstation they will work.

Should not need to domain controllers are coded to replicate all changes every 5 minutes between DC's. The only problem could be if you have DC's in different sites or not directly connected (across sites or a updates b then b updates c)
This could cause there to be upto a 15 minute delay...
The other thing to try if the IP address is ok is just type in the net bios name
eg "Trog" rahter than "Trog.co.uk"
This works sometimes....

I managed to solve it in the end.
The .inf file in the driver points to for example
HP4300 PCL6 for winnt
and
HP4300 PCL 6 for XP
The space in the .inf file means that the drive files are stored differently in the print server so they cannot both be used because they have different names...
