    The problem was with the Autoexec.Nt file that was corrupted. After replacing that file it is ok now.

    Yes in the same office, the same clipper program did run ok on another computer with XP. There must be something wrong or corrupted on the Operating system. I will try reinstalling the XP. Thanks for your reply. Sam

    We can get into the command prompt by typing 'CMD' in START -> RUN ... as we are in the command prompt when we type in EDIT, it will not run the edit program and instead it gives us the error message.
