System is in a remote office, so a co-worker is assisting me. She says there's no security code on the mailbox, so VM immediately announces that there is no new email & asks "Do you want to" do this or that, etc.
Should the system still accept the prompts you've provided? Thank you
We just retired an Electra Elite 192. The replacement IP Office is connected in an entirely different way -- moved from OLD analog trunks to PRI, even all the phone numbers have changed (now using DIDs from a block used at a second location).
The line used to manage the NEC has been removed...
The PBX is not connected to a power conditioner or UPS, however a UPS used for other equipment does log all notable power fluctuations -- none were recorded for the past week.
If the OFF/ON rocker switch is also a circuit breaker, that is explanation enough. Avaya gave me the impression that it...
After the weekend I arrived at the office to find the phone system dead. Opened up the Definity cabinet (upgraded from a System 75) - no lights on the "A" shelf, & the rocker switch on the 631AR was off. Switched it on & everything came back.
Called Avaya who said the supply cannot switch...
Rather than upgrading to 9.x & creating a problem backing up an old NetWare server, can BE 8.6 be tweaked to use an HP Storageworks 72Gb DAT drive? It's not on the Veritas HCL for 8.6, but perhaps there's a certain driver that will do the trick. Currently using an HP 40Gb drive, but need extra...
Currently running BE for Windows Server 8.6 (running on NT4 Server) which can backup/restore a NetWare 3.2 server. Just bought a larger capacity tape drive which requires BE 9.x, but 9.x doesn't "support" old NetWare. Support aside, will it work? Need to keep the NW3.2 going for another six...
If the /T switch is used, then the command returns an error if a target file (like temp.dat) is not specified.
Don't know what else to try with this utility.
So, will try the others you mentioned. Thanks,
Jim
We are "suddenly" unable to use REBUILD to re-index the data files in our accounting application. The app is character-based, & uses the Btrieve engine on our NetWare 3.2 server. We have re-indexed files in the past, but now we can't get past the error shown below. The command is...
Marcel,
As I understand it, btrieve data files have the index (or key definitions) built-in. Our app doesn't use any .idx files. But it was a good thought . . . maybe I should post the question in the Pervasive Btrieve forum.
Thanks,
Jim

Our company had an old PC with Btrieve v6.15 Workstation Engine (Win NT/Win 95 - Single Seat). We've replaced that PC, but while installing the engine on the new PC, we discovered that one of the files on our installation diskettes has become corrupted. Pervasive is unable to provide us with a...
