I have a windows 2000 box with office XP on it. When I installed MSN messenger onto my machine it automatically launches messenger whenever I open up outlook express. This is an annoying inconvience. I can disable messenger from logging on but I don't want Outlook to launch MSN messenger...

What type of PC is it? Does the PC have a Firewall installed on it (IE: Blackice, Norton, etc) or is it behind a router. I have had similar issues with pc's that have an installed firewall. If it does get rid of the firewall and see if the problem continues.

This also could be a cableing issue. Have you tried swapping the patch cables from one machine that works to another. maybe you have a couple of str8 through cables and the hub has to recognize it. Net BUEI could also be an issue but I would assume that you have TCPIP set as your default...
