I am using sco OpenServer 5.0.6. The manual makes it sound like configuring a usb port sets it up as a hard drive. Is there a usb flash drive that is combatible with unix or is this like asking if there is a floppy disk that is compatible with unix?

Has anyone used usb flash memory as a backup medium? In talking to Kingston (one of the manufactures) they informed me that they do not support unix but do support linux and thought that they may be sufficiently similar to work. Thanks for whatever info you can impart. b

I have just loaded unix openserver 5.0.6 in a new box. when I create the tape drive (sony sdt-5200 scsi tape drive) using mkdev tape it gives the "idmkreg: error updating space.c file for Stp" it then relinks the kernel etc. normally but when i try to use the tape drive it is not listed. man...

I have resolved this issue by installing 2 nic pci cards and not using the onboard ethernet connector. altough not an elegant solution it works.
