I can login fine with domain admin account, question is I used to be able to login to the machine account and can not anymore, does that make sense? Anytime I make a machine a DC now I can not login to it.
I used to be able to login locally to my domain controller but now I can not, any ideas? It must have something to do with domain controller securtiy settings, but they all look good as far as I can tell.
Some more info would be helpful, did you install DNS on the DC? How is your domain setup? What happens when you ping the ip address?
Try restarting dns on the machine, you can also make dsn automatically update itself so the machine name should be resolving internally to an ip address.
try...
I tried once and I kept gettin IPC$ password. On windows 2000 machine you can give user rights to the printer. Have the 98 or 95 machine user restart, log back into the domain and try adding the printer now that they have rights to it. I think that solved my problem.

go to start, run type mmc go to console, add and I think you can add users. You can change local admin usernames however you can not change domain controlers like this, you must add the admin.msi pack from the server disk and you must have admin rights.
Install terminal services in remote admin mode on y2k server. Then use it to create client disks to install on your workstation. Then you will be able to connect, like vnc or pcanywher, but fast and awesome
OFO: Static file has grown to maximum size and cannot be incremented anymore.
OFO: Error during backup. Set has been aborted.
I think this is your error. Check to make sure you have enough space for the open file option, I believe it uses extra space on the drive temporarily when backing things up.
Your sure the account it runs under has the right password? The service will not start if the password is incorrect.
-good luck, i find it terrible sometimes too
