    OK after much digging on Cisco's web site I think I need c2600-is-mz.12.2-11.yt2 IOS but it can't be located on the site. Can anyone help with either a suitable alternative or a copy of it?

    RJ-45 to ? adapter

    The only time you should need to convert a rj45 cable to rs232 is for the console port. If the connection for the LAN to your router is not rj45 but a 15 pin D-type you'll need a media converter from AUI to Ethernet Hope this makes sense. Bob
