Thanks for the direction however I must be missing something.
I've downloaded 5.5 and built it on a CD and can now get the system to boot from the CD but I can't get to the stage of installing Win2000 server.
I keep telling it that the OS is OTHER and it goes of and reboots and then needs the...
Trying to recycle an old server and need to change the boot order to boot from CD.
How do you do this, all it wants to do is boot from SCSI or Floppy?
Any help and links to any required drivers etc would be appreciated.
Be very carefull with the diagram given in the cirrus link above.
That is not for CAT 5 cabling
CAT 5 uses pins 1&2 and one pair and 3&6 as the other so, if memory servers me correctly, the colours (for a "straight" connector should be:
1 White/Orange
2 Orange
3 White/Green

Thanks for this Andy, the cisco system gave me the IOS mentioned above as being the one to use for the hardware that I have BUT, I can't find a copy of the IOS.
TYPICAL!

OK after much digging on Cisco's web site I think I need
c2600-is-mz.12.2-11.yt2 IOS but it can't be located on the site.
Can anyone help with either a suitable alternative or a copy of it?
The only time you should need to convert a rj45 cable to rs232 is for the console port.
If the connection for the LAN to your router is not rj45 but a 15 pin D-type you'll need a media converter from AUI to Ethernet
Hope this makes sense.

Is it possible to install an ADSL card in a 2611 (not XM)and if so what are the IOS and hardware requirements?
Bob
I'm trying to configure one of the routers on our network to sync its clock with a public NTP source.
I was told that "ALL" I had to do was to add:
ntp peer a.a.a.a
to the config and it would work.....
HA!
I've tried several NTP servers from the lists at http://www.ntp.org and...
Sorry,
Should have given the IP address as b.b.b.b and this IP address should be entered in the router in the access-list.
The reason behind this is that the access-list stops windows traffic from holding the line up.
Bob
Steve,
Lmhost file should look like:
a.a.a.a exchange-server #PRE
The #pre causes this to me loaded to memory when the PC is restarted...... ("PRE" MUST be in caps!)
The IP address should be the address of your mail server and the name "exchange-server" is what you...
