The hotfix I used was Q269601.EXE this one I think would only apply to my nvidia system specs (although might work for you as well) I have no link, but I think it can be found on microsoft.com (I have it on cd) Good luck :)

I managed to fix it, by reinstalling the lastest nvida sound drivers and then adding the windows "hotfix" which seems to be needed everytime windows is reinstalled.

1) nope this started happening after a complete reinstal from HD format. 2)I have been updating everything humanly possible.. nothing seems to fix it. :( perhaps I am missing an audio driver from someplace?? I have been all over the net trying to find anything I think might help.

If you get ad-watch monitor, it will tell you when something tries to alter the reg. and tell you what prog is trying to alter it. (this is how I was able to remove that stupid onflow bug) which was not detected by any spywear remover or virus killer.) AVS Pool

I've had this problem before, and was able to fix it 2 ways, the easiest way was re-install the drivers for the new device (in my case a new sound card) The second way was to get the vxd files from windows and place them in the correct windows/system folders.. AVS Pool

Can't access any https websites using IE or msn progs etc.. However I can access https with other browsers, such as firefox. I have tried the secure settings in IE and various other soulutions posted here and on the net. OS win98 SE Help please!
