    one more suggestion. in gpedit.msc. user configuration, administrative templates, control panel, add & remove program policy. in here you can hide add & remove program page, you can hide add & remove program from CD-Rom, Floppy drive. ect. I hope these would be helpful.

    No, Each specific driver is builded for specific OS. Some times you can get away using printer driver 2k for XP. But it not very stable.
