o files backed up.
Arcserve job completes successfully - but Zero files backed up.
Would have thought backing up files would have been a pretty fundamental thing - but obviously not in Arcserve.
NB We are running Arcserve 2000 (SP4) - SP5 would probably do the job - but does anyone know of the...
Hi, we are in Windows2000 domain, and I have renamed a number of network accounts. The had the users log out at the time, and then log in again when the name chnage had been completed.
It seems that although the user is able to log into the domain again immediately, a new desktop profile (and...
Could some tell me...
If I have new tapes - and I label one of them - can I Append to this tape?
The reason I ask - is that we have a number of tapes - NEW and OLD - some of the tapes have an Append time of zero - even though they erased/labelled and placed in a group which has an INFINITE...
Yes - Noton Antivirus was to blame. Once Norton had been instructed not to scan files that were opened for backup - all was sorted.
BUT - I have another query - job history is not being saved. - to be specific - Restore information is only being held for one day - then dumped. We have to...
Our BAOF logs a message in the Arcserve log (0000's of times), that it has SUCCESSFULLY backed up an open file. But the files in question are NOT open. Our log files/and databases are growing rapidly. The only solution it seems is to turn off the advanced features in BAOF.
(We have 10+...
Yes but..
I even if the job is set to overwrite the tape - my job fails. This only hapens on CERTAIN tapes. When I look in the Media tab (all media) the 'Append Time Left' is None but only on certain media. Even if I create a custom media set - these same tapes retain the Append Time Left of...
Hi, why won't my backup job append to my tape?
The tape has been ERASED and moved to a media set that has an overwrite protection period of None, and and an Infinite append period. yet still the tape shows up as having an append time of None. What am I doing wrong. We are looking to move...
Hi, I too am having this same problem. How can the tape be full if an Erase has just been run on it?
Also - the Media Group is set to have Infinite Append (if no appendable media then set to overwrite)
Hi, we have ARCServe 2000 with SP4 on a mixture of W2000 Servers (SP3) and NT4 servers (SP6) with 3 Compaq MSL5026 Library (in a SAN) and thus six Drives.
We too are having LOTS of media errors (infact we put in a new pack of 5 tapes and every one came back as unreadable). If you find a...
Is there any way of increasing the number of groups that can be created in Arcserve 2000?
We currently have 16 groups - approx one each for every server that we backup over fibre to our 3 libraries.
If I schedule 2 jobs at overlapping times to a particular group the latter job will fail...
We have had LOTS of these messages too. What did help (but not totally fix the problem) was updating the firmware and drivers on the fibre backup cards. Also - turn off everything that might talk down the SCSI channel - stop the Compaq survey service, foundation agent - and within compaq agent...
Looks like you will have to configure groups ! We have approx 12 groups (one each for every server on the HBA). Arcserve will not allow us to create any more groups -is there a registry tweak to get round this problem ? The only other way it seems is to schedule the job to commence once the...
We are experiencing the same problem, (NAVCE 7.5). Have you found a solution to this problem?
If so could you post it.
Our servers are up and down quicker than a whorxx knickers!
Cheers
