I just heard from the guy who wrote the data base. I had to go into the VBA editor, tools, refrences, deselect DAO Library, save it, go back in and select it. Then it worked fine. That was all the explanation I got from him, but he did tell me he had to do the same to the other XP machines...

I keep reading that a quick format doesn't wipe out the data on a hard drive, just the table. If this is true, how can you restore or retrieve the data from a hard drive that has been formated with XPs quick format. All advise is welcome and appreciated. Thanks

I think the dbx files are only created when an export was done. there are not any dbx files on the computer. But I know there is e-mail. In safe mode it will not let me export anything. What happend with the PC was, someone tried doing an Microsoft update without disableling the anti virus...
