I just heard from the guy who wrote the data base. I had to go into the VBA editor, tools, refrences, deselect DAO Library, save it, go back in and select it. Then it worked fine. That was all the explanation I got from him, but he did tell me he had to do the same to the other XP machines...
Thanks for your help, I will try to copy a front end from a 2003 machine and see if that works. The Convert Database option, will that convert the front end only or does that convert the back end?
Thanks
Mike
I have a database that was created in access 2000. The back end recides on a server, the front ends are on PCs running 2000. I have replaced one PC with a new XP machine and it is running access 2003. I have installed the front end, linked the tables, but when I run the DB I get an error on some...
I keep reading that a quick format doesn't wipe out the data on a hard drive, just the table. If this is true, how can you restore or retrieve the data from a hard drive that has been formated with XPs quick format. All advise is welcome and appreciated.
Thanks
We have a few PCs that need access to the internet but only for a few websites. Is there a way I can limit IE to specific websites or IP addresses?

How do I figure out, what type of connection the front end makes?
I assume it will handle mutiple users. It can be accessed from the server or the one workstation.

I have a client that has a server with a client database on it. It also has VB6 on it, I think the client database was created with VB6. On one other machine there is a front end that can access the client data base. What I need to do is find out how to duplicate the front end onto other...
I just finished (I think) getting my new computer setup and all software installed. When I noticed something weird. When I try to restart my computer, it shuts down to a point where I have a blank screen, and then sits there. The power button wont do anything, I have to use the reset, to reboot...
Then maybe this exe is a VBA program to look at the MDB. There is a small server that has the MDB file on it. The work stations (2 of them) have an EXE file that they use to look at the database on the server. Does that sound possible?
Thanks
Mike
