how can i turn on my default gateway in my wireless network

i have this sitecom wireless router and its been...ok... i suppose, but i have just reformatted my desktop computer from another room and it is now not working with it. my other laptop n desktop are fine but this one has a problem. i recently bought a usb 2.0 hub and have plugged the wireless usb 2.0 adapter into it. Now i can get onto the internet and look at things on websites but when i try to download something it says your gateway is offline. This also happens when someone tries to go onto msn messenger. It doesnt happen however when my computer dowloads a windows update. Des anyone have any suggestions??

What does IPCONFIG /ALL say from the command prompt?
Do you have DHCP set on the router?

Have you tried bypassing the hub and plugging the network adapter directly into the machine? Is the hub powered by ac?
