how to restore DB from a atabase file?

Hi Guys,
is there anyway to restore a database from just the database data file(*.dbs)? I dont have any logs or any other files.

I am trying to restore a 7.5.1 data file onto a 9.0 server.

Please help me in this regard.

RE: how to restore DB from a atabase file?

Can you rollforward on this .dbs file? Can you connect? Try unloading it and then loading in to a new .dbs file.

As far as I know, it is not possible to bring this dbs file to a 9.0 server. The database structure has to be converted to the new server.
