I have a server, that is full of very small files. I do a full backup on Friday and differential's through the week. Once or twice a week, during the differtials, I get the error:

E3392 Backup Server TCP Reconnection Timeout.

The client logs show:
[Backup_WriteWMIRepository] Unable to obtain process token. <5>
[Backup_WriteWMIRepository] Call RevertToSelf, and try to obtain process token again.

Then it goes on to end the backup (after a 19 minute delay) with no data sent.

I have the registry key's tweaked for the SENDTIMEOUT and RECEIVETIMEOUT to be 72 minutes (4320). The job fails in 19 minutes. And it didn't change after I increased these values from 60 minutes. Usually a reboot "fixes" it. However, last night it didn't.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Debi

ck the NIC configuration to see if it is set for auto negotiation. That can sometimes cause problems. Use the latest NIC drivers. Set the virus detection program to scan incoming and not outgoing files. Defrag the driver. Configure the agent to use Low Backup Priority.

I turned off the estimation and all seems to be working fine now.

Thanks!
Debi
