How do I install and start windows me from a network?

How do I install and start windows me from a network?

How do I install and start windows me from a network?

(OP)
This is the setup I have.

For the server I have installed windows 2003 server on a P3 1.3Ghz with 1.5Gb of ram and a 120Gb hard drive, the server machine has 2 ethernet cards, 1 for the dsl modem/router, and the other connected to a 5 port ethernet smart switch, which in turn connects to 3 other computers in the house, each of the 3 computers have the ability to boot from the network, by pressing F12 during POST.

The question is, how do I boot the 3 computers from the network, so that software that is run on any of the 3 systems, runs only from the network?

RE: How do I install and start windows me from a network?

What brand of machines are they?

Sorry for not replying earlier, but I moved house, and only just got connected back to the internet, anyway, the machines are home built.

RE: How do I install and start windows me from a network?

There are essentially 2 places to look in for setting up a network boot:
1. BIOS settings for booting from the network on the server and workstations.
2. And the server OS settings

I don't know what BIOSs or server OS you have so I can't help you there, but I found this info from the following website:

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/WindowsServ/2003/standard/proddocs/en-us/Default.asp?url=/resources/documentation/WindowsServ/2003/standard/proddocs/en-us/EMS_RIS_support.asp

Though it deals with an OS installation procedure it does contain some relevant info. :)

The host machine is running windows 2003 server.

The other machines bios is AMI with network boot support.

The link you posted is for "Understanding Emergency Management Services ", I couldn't find anything in there about booting from a network.
