limit on number of 4424 sets?

limit on number of 4424 sets?

limit on number of 4424 sets?

Good day, folks

I had heard/seen somewhere a comment that the IPO has a limit to the number of 4424 digital sets that it would support. Can anyone confirm if this is true, and if so, what is the limit?

RE: limit on number of 4424 sets?

"no more than 10 4424D+ sets are supported per module. As long as no more than 10 4424D+ sets are connected, any number of other sets may be connected to the DS module."

RE: limit on number of 4424 sets?

Thanks for the info.

Too bad for the client that wants all 24 button sets, eh?

Is this limitation also on the Merlin Magix I wonder?

RE: limit on number of 4424 sets?

I do not believe the issue you speak of exists on the Magix.

RE: limit on number of 4424 sets?

The customer could use 6424's which are not subject to the same restriction.

The 4424 issue is with IP Office only. There are similar restrictions on 4450 units (max 2 per module).

The problem relate both to power supply and to the switch software. Rumour is that the call appearance features in the forthcoming IP Office 3.0 include beefed up handling of high density lamp activity though I haven't seen that confirmed yet.

RE: limit on number of 4424 sets?

thanks, folks.

Is there an official feature/fix list for rev 3.0?

RE: limit on number of 4424 sets?

Still trialing so still a moving target (as always with IP Office software).

The thread http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=904163 contained a good cut'n'paste of what was intended to be in 3.0.

RE: limit on number of 4424 sets?

There is definately no limit on 4424's on the magix (other than the same limits that generally apply, of course - max 200 extensions, whatever cards you have, etc.)

RE: limit on number of 4424 sets?

With so many new features, I wonder what the feature / bug ratio will be?

I hope there will be a good solid stable 2.* release prior to the 3.0. That will give us a stable rev to use for new installations between now and the resolution of all the new 3.0 bugs that no doubt will exist.

So far, in my exposure to the IPO product, it seems like each install is beta testing.

How many installs have you guys/gals done that were not "money pits" as far as sinking tons of nonbillable time to resolve bugs after the initial cutover?

RE: limit on number of 4424 sets?

meant to post that last one in the thread that listed the 3.0 features.

RE: limit on number of 4424 sets?

So far 2.0.18 is the most stable firmware I'm aware of.  I agree it would be nice to have a stable release with all the new 2.1 features before R3 comes out.
