BCM Remote Backup

BCM Remote Backup

BCM Remote Backup

(OP)
BCM remote backup is working on a BCM on the same subnet as the backup destination but I cannot back it up to a pc on another subnet.
The whole network uses a 10. address scheme.
Any help will be greatly appreciated after several tech days of attempts.
I have two trial units so I will willingly try anything.
I am also using XP with SP2 and have turne off the firewall.

RE: BCM Remote Backup

If the BCM and the remote pc are on different subnets then I believe you will have to use a vpn client to complete the backup, or do this through the V.90 modem.

RE: BCM Remote Backup

I also have another pc & BCM sharing a different subnet that will not allow backups. We went to the functioning units and copied the setup exactly, changing the IP address and the pc name as needed.
Is anyone aware of any more specific information on backup on an enterprise? The CD and any paper docs I have do not seem to cover anything.

I discovered that the problem was an obscure setting in XP after installation of SP2. If anyone has a similar problem I will post the solution.
Thank you for all the help.

RE: BCM Remote Backup

What was the setting you changed? I'm having problems with my remote backup.

RE: BCM Remote Backup

Narsbars, Please post your findings.
Thanks
