I am a new to after effects does anyone know of any beginners guides or tutorials for after effects?

becouse your a biginning with AE the best for you it is to go to www.adobe.com tutorials and tips section.
and after that you can find a lot of other links for AE
tutorials and tips for useing tha AE.

Adobe AE Classroom in A Book. I've been using after effects for several years with no formal training and this book is giving me the background I should have had initially. Great investment

I'd say time and messing around with the program is whats going to make you good at after effects. That and this forum
