Contivity VPN Client

Contivity VPN Client

Contivity VPN Client

(OP)
Excuse my ignorance, but I am quite new to the BCM. Nortel recommend that for home working for IP phones, that you use Contivity or Shasta. has anybody used Symantec VPN for this application, or has it got to be the recommendations of Nortel?

Cheers

RE: Contivity VPN Client

We found the VPN functions of the BCM very weak and disappointing.

Plus it was unstable, had to reboot the BCM everytime VPN failed. So we went with an outside vendor and disconected the BCM from the pubic world.

We installed Fortinet VPN firewalls and they work well. We use i2050s and i2002 reemote IP phones.

RE: Contivity VPN Client

Many VPN solutions are severely crippled in one way or another.
The Nortel Contivity 1010 VPN appliance or similar appliance is an excellent VPN solution and it is very flexible.
I cannot comment on the Symantec VPN product I have never used it.
Do not use the VPN applications available within BCM!!!!
