Inserting jpeg files into Front Page files

Inserting jpeg files into Front Page files

Inserting jpeg files into Front Page files

Why can't I insert jpeg files into Front Page files?
I can insert clip art.
Every time I select insert, and then select the .jpg file I want to insert I get the message:
"Could not insert c:\webpictures\xxxx.jpg", such as Ms.jpg. I tried inserting files from a digital camera and couldn't do it and I tried the simple .jpg file called Ms.jpg found in Win 95 c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\grphflt and it wouldn't do it.
But if I manaully enter in the html code to insert the Ms.jpg file it does it!

RE: Inserting jpeg files into Front Page files

Hi Crayfish,

Is the ms.jpg in use (by another program)?  Did you try another *.jpg file, one know not to be in use?

Also, your last two sentences lead me to beleive that there is a problem with your path to your file.  As a test, copy the *.jpe file into the same directory as your html document (this will get rid of need for a path).  Also if the file is in use it won't copy.

Keep us posted.

RE: Inserting jpeg files into Front Page files

Thanks boxplan, I tried your solutions and in doing so I stumbled upon what was wrong.  I did the stuff you said and everything was checking out - then I found out that you can't say "insert, file", you have to say "insert, picture, from file".  If you say "insert, file" it never lets me insert a jpeg file.  But if I say "insert, picture, from file, it does it every time.  I'm still puzzled why you have to use the "insert, picture" path.
