OC4J Standalone install

Has anyone installed OC4J Standalone?  Is there a standard directory where it should go?  When I unpack the download it places is in the current directory.

The other problem that I'm having is that I download the Solaris version, which for some reason is a .zip file, when I unzip the file all of the permissions are wacked.

It took me a few years to learn about Oracle's "Optimal Flexible Architecture".  It then took me another few years to fix my mistakes.  I don't want to go through that again.

RE: OC4J Standalone install

It doesnt matter in which directory you're going to install oc4j. Can you tell me on which platform you're trying to set up the container ?
