Noob referencing question urgently needed to be solved

Noob referencing question urgently needed to be solved

This is probably a simple noob problem, but I have spent hours upon hours trying to figure it out.  Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.  I have been working with Authorware 7.

I dont think I can attach the file in this forum, so I posted it at my website, www.canadadeasobo.com

Problem 1:
In the group icon called Name,’ there is an interaction icon which asks the user, “Type your name, please.”  I would like whatever name is entered to be saved for the subsequent group icons.  There doesn’t have to be any feedback right now.

Problem 2:
In the group icon named ‘Get number of questions,’ I want to have the user’s name (as typed above), be entered with the other feedback i.e. ‘OK, here are your 5 questions.’  Together, these would be ‘Okay John, here are your 5 questions.”

Problem 3:
For Problem two above, I cannot get the feedback (‘Okay John, here are your 5 questions”) to show; it automatically advances to the next group icon on the level 1 flow line.

Problem 4:
For the last display icon, ‘Display # correct,’ I can’t figure out how to put the user’s name (still the same one from Problem 1 above) in the feedback so that it reads, ‘John got 5 right on the first try.’

I am totally stumped and is need of assistance as soon as possible,

Thanks so much.
