Assigning extension lists to buttons?

Assigning extension lists to buttons?

Assigning extension lists to buttons?

(OP)
Is it possible to assign extension lists to buttons? We have 2 groups of lines and we use the 8-group and 9-group to select which group to dial from. However, we'll be adding two more groups of lines and we need to be able to select which group to dial out from. I thought we might be able to assign an extension list to the buttons, but that doesn't work. Is there another way to chose from groups of lines to dial out? Perhaps modifying the dial plan to use two digits for outside lines - 9+"groupnum"+phone number perhaps? Any help is appreciated

RE: Assigning extension lists to buttons?

You need to setup the dial plan for multi-tenant with PreTranslators when you get this going then you can add extensions to the Pretranslator list.
Here is the e-mail for 3Com on how to setup your dial plan.

Fix            An example Multi tenant dial plan is shown below:
    1. The extensions of the users that are to access these trunks (soon to be defined) must be put in the dial plan > tables, select table 4 (dispatch group), select devices using, and move the extensions to the left side table (devices using).
    2. Go to dial plan > extension lists, highlight *0010, click on devices using and move the trunks desired to the left side.
Now when these extensions dial 9, they will use these trunks. More routes can be added for other groups that want their own outbound trunks
