Outside call setup time
Outside call setup time
(OP)
It seems to take a long time between the completion of dialing until the line starts ringing.
Do you know of a way to shorten this time?
The config is an IP Office 403, Analog Trunks, IP Phones.

I would suggest adjusting some ot the settings in the Analoge section of the line
DTMF mark & space look like they could be lowered also the intermediate digit pause could probably be reduced.
RE: Outside call setup time
Reduced dial time delay from 4000 to 2000: No effect.
Removed ; from shortcodes: The call never completes. The phone just sits there indefinately with the dialed digits on the display.
Reduced DTMF mark, space & pause: No effect. I was very hopeful that this one was going to do the trick since the default pause time is 500ms. I cut each parameter in half but it didn't seem to have an effect.
It's still taking about 12 seconds after the last digit is dialed before you hear the first ring. Is this normal?
Any other suggestions?
RE: Outside call setup time
My next sugesstion would be to put a test butt accross the line & listen to the digits beeing dialed.
any time taken to connect after the last digit is down to your network provider
RE: Outside call setup time
I'll give it a try later tonight. I didn't know how low I could go without making the dial process unreliable.
