Quicktime 5 and Netscape problem

Quicktime 5 and Netscape problem

Quicktime 5 and Netscape problem

(OP)
When I try to open a Quicktime video in Netscape ver 4.77 I get a message saying Quicktime needs to be updated.  When I click on the "update" button I then get  an "illegal operation" message and the browser crashes.  This only happens with Netscape.  It did not happen with Quicktime ver 3.

I've already tried to uninstall, remove all Quicktime files, reboot and reinstall.  This didn't help.

Help!

RE: Quicktime 5 and Netscape problem

Quicktime 4 & 5 will not work with Netscape 4.77!

Apple offers no support!

To get Netscape back up and running, simply delete all QT files from the
Netscape/Program/Plugins folder.

Apple blames Netscape for the problem even though QT v.3 works just fine.
This tells me that the problem is with QT and not Netscape.
