SK95 2

Dear Rich224422,
The answer to your problem is to install Sidekick98 + the SK98 patch and you can read all those SK95 files perfectly and todos carry forward (if you install the patch properly).
See the following threads and read them all before you install anything.
AND BE AWARE THAT THE SITE FOR DOWNLOADS IS OFFLINE AT THE MOMENT.
It should be back again in a week but if you are desperate you can contact the person who set it up direct, his address is in the first FAQ

For James32: Many thanks for your info. of 9 April. With the SK site down I am unable to follow your advice for the moment. I posted a Thank You to you when I first read the reply.

That night, I first went to the SK site (JTs), and began a download of SK99. However, after reading your reply, and the threads you quoted, it appears that SK98 with patch is the better choice. So, at least for the moment, I aborted the download of SK 99. Am I reading you correctly re SK98 vs. SK 99?

If so, I will need to wait for a site where I can download SK 98 and the patch needed. I don't know if I mentioned it or not, but I have the license for that SK95, so I don't feel like too big of a criminal.

I read your instruction to reply back if needed. However, as a real newbie to this site, I'm not sure how I reply directly to you. Is this the proper method ... posting back? I hope this posting is the correct method.

I downloaded the patch from the following side, as I already wrote in another thread:

What I do need is a Guide for the program to find out about all, what it can. Do you have a pdf you could send me? I couldn't find something about 98 or 95, but as I can see they are similar, so I suppose a 95 would do it. If you like to send it to me, my email is:

I just posted a thank you to you. I can help with information but not the easy way. I have the Book that came with my SK 95. However, I don't find it reproduced on the CD. My SK 95 came as part of a cd package with Corel WP 7 Suite.

I believe one of our best resources is the "J.T." whom you see mentioned in several of these postings. His site has been down for one or two weeks but is starting to be reassembled. You probably can check with his links for a manual in digital format. Try looking at this site:


And now, I am off to your links to see if I can download that SK 98 program with patches. You didn't say if you loaded this into XP (home) but that's where it is going at my house. Wish me luck!

works fine at mine with XP Home. Forwarding of TO DOs isn't a problem either.

Wow! Many thanks to James33 and Larsburger. That last trail from Larsburger led to the download for SK 98 basic program and then to the J.T. Site for the Patch. If the reader has not visited that site ( it is a veritible gold mine for SK Addicts. I'm not sure what the patch does. However, I am sure that the installation went extremely well... and without a single problem. If you decide to make the switch, be sure and follow directions exactly for installation of the patch.

I now have a sparkling SK 98 (With patch). It is so much like SK 95 that user transition is easy. To any other SK users who are still struggling with SK 95, etc., I strongly recommend making this switch. The last concern I had was that old files would not import (or open) in the new program. Well...not a problem. I am now on Day 2 with all To Do incomplete items now being forwarded. Writing this thank you was one of those items.
