(OP)
When we installed 7.5 (went from 6.0 to 7.5 so it might have actually happened for other folks earlier) our SQL jobs also got a job for each company database that says 'Remove Posted <company> PJOURNALS'.  The jobs are not scheduled and except for the fact GP's site says to run them because it will speed things up I have not found anything that says that the job actually does --- or if I really need to worry about them.

anyone got any background on these things???

RE: SQL jobs installed to delete PJOURNALS

From what I have learned if you want to be able to reprint journal postings do not run these. I have turned mine off and have had no problems.
