NEC CMS Voicemail help?

NEC CMS Voicemail help?

NEC CMS Voicemail help?

(OP)
Our company just bought a NEC CMS 4 port voicemail.
I put the card into NEC Elite 48 slot 7, and I was lost when I need to assign the voicemail port.

I don't know which port number I should use?  I can not chage 01 and 02 in Memory block 7-2, but I can change 03, 04, and etc to DVM.  By now, i don't know what ports are the 4 port voicemail holding in the Elite system. any ideas?

Moreover, the system come with coSession 7.0 for remote programming.  Currently, we do not have any win95 or DOS machine left.  We are all using XP.  Any software we can use?

RE: NEC CMS Voicemail help?

Here is how you do it.

First figure out what slot you put it into.
Next go to mem block 7-1 and asign that slot as a vms 2/4.
After you hit transfer go back to that slot it will tell you what your port numbers are, and will automatically assighn them vmail ports.
Next go to mem block 4-10 to those ports and assign them ext numbers such as 200-204.
Next go to mem block 4-14 and press line key 1or2 for yes for master hunt number then press transfer to 4-15 and put in in 201.  This is an example starting on your first voicemail port 200.  repeat these steps for the rest of the ports.  making each port a master and hunting to the next port.  Make your last port hunt back to 200.
Next go to mem block 1-8-26 and put in 200 for your first port for quick transfer to voicemail.  This way if you transfer or dial an extention and press 7 it will take you strait to voicemail.

Hope this helps.
