A NEAX 2000 IVS just dropped on my Lap

(OP)
Could someone point me in the right direction to get started. I have experience with Mitel, Nortel so I'm not totally help less, just need the resources to get me started. I have no docs only the AD ref manual

Here are a few things that I have questions on.

1. Where in the port access. I see reference to the VM00 port but I see no connection. is there a special cable needed for the modem or direct port access.

2. Terminal access
What is the best interface program to access the system with?

3.  Where can I get or download this info.

Thanks,
ET

RE: A NEAX 2000 IVS just dropped on my Lap

Well, you certainly will have your hands full...

There are two points of access for the MP card (via modem & local cable connection). What kind on Main Processor do you have?

The VM00 is the voicemail card (made by Active voice). It is accessable from the top square (honda) connector on the VM00 card. It is a RS232 connector but requires a MAT Cable "T" or "P" and the use of Co-Sessions loaded on your PC. That same cable will be used for talking to the processor provided the PBX processor is a CP03 or CP14 or CP16 or CP24 or CP26. To talk to the switch use Hyperterminal or Procomm, emulating a VT100 terminal (your port sppeds, stop bit, etc will need to match in the PC to that of the COM port setting inthe PBX in COmmand 40. You can also use NEC's MATWorX Studio or MATWorX IPS programs. You can also program the switch from a Dterm, provided the Dterm is up and running.

RE: A NEAX 2000 IVS just dropped on my Lap

yes there is a specific cable for communicating with the voicemail card and the front interface of the CPO- card.
The software for configuring the voicemail is called Cosessions and the software for configuring the switch is called MatWorx Studio, but most programming of the switch can be accomplished thru a digital phone on either the first or second port.
