I have a computer lab that when I pull up the asscess database Northwinds a error message appears and we can not get in to the sample database. it crates a record lock 1k file. I have tried to reinsal, rename, and debug database.

if anyone has ever com accross this problem please help.

Is this on a LAN ? Check permissions of your account to these files.

Have you tried Tools/Database_Utilities/Repair_Database? If you can't even do that, you might go more general, and try Windows' ScanDisk (use Thorough and Automatically Fix Errors). This all depends, of course, on you permission status, as ahjanet mentioned.
