How do I import saved .isd, .ism and .frm files into MySQL

Hello All,
I am basically new to MySQL.  I need to transfer .isd, .ism and .frm files saved on my hard drive into MySQL.  I have been searching and searching on the internet and cannot find a thing.  I find tons of stuff on mysqldump but that just tells me how to transfer it from another MySQL server.  HELP!!!!  Any input what be GREATLY appreciated.  Thanks so much in advance.

RE: How do I import saved .isd, .ism and .frm files into MySQL

When you say these files are on your hard drive, where did you get them from? Do you know what version of MySQL the were created under? Are you trying to use these files in a MySQL install on your computer, or are you transferring them to another server?

Generally, all you have to do is 1)make sure you are dealing with the same version of MySQL, and 2)copy the .frm, (etc..) files into whatever directory is already used by MySQL on the new system.

What operating system are you using? Is the originating server using the same operating system as the destination server?

RE: How do I import saved .isd, .ism and .frm files into MySQL

I am transferring a web site from another host from a CD Rom disk they gave me of the site.  I do know however that the files needed to make the database portion of this work are .isd, .ism and .frm files.  What I am trying to accomplish is to get these files off my CD ROM and into, via telnet, a mysql server so they will make my site operational on this new server.  The server by the way is UNIX based running Linux I think.

I  am assuming I will need to do a dump of some sort to get this in.  Actually, to make this a little easier, I did ftp the entire CD onto my server.  I have two IP Addresses I go to via telnet.  (1) the IP address where my web site is - here I can see all my files including the ones I need to transfer to MySQL (2) this IP address is where MySQL is.  What I need is some sort of command that will pluck the files out of the web site IP address which is on regular telnet and stick it into the other IP address which is MySQL.  Let me know if you need any further information.
