Macintosh Platform Management!

Macintosh Platform Management!

Macintosh Platform Management!

(OP)
Hey Everyone,

I've got an issue regarding managing and keeping my 200+ Macintosh machines up to date. Currently, we use LANDesk but we are looking to move away from this tool. We have mostly a Windows platform for our desktop and server environment. We've decided to implement SMS 2003 but to much surprise the Macintosh platform is not able to be managed by SMS.

For our Macintosh environment we are looking for a plug in tool that can integrate with SMS 2003. We need to meet the requirements including inventory, software/patch distribution and reporting on distribution status.

I've located one tool from Altiris that does inventory and forwards it to the SMS site server for processing. However they don't support software distribution using the Macintosh platform.

I'm really looking for anyone's advice on this as I cannot find a decent solution centered on integration.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Kindest Regards,
Matt
