Pawcom, Crystal Reports and Access

I am trying to create a report from a separate MS Access database and Pawcom in crystal reports 8.5.

The field I'm trying to link is a PO number.

I've been trying to use the Purchase Order Journal Header table, PONumber field in Pawcom, which is a text field, and the POnumber field in the other database, which is unfortunately a number field.

I've been trying to do this by making a formula in the main report that changes the data type and length of the PO number field in one database to match the one in the other database and linking the subreport field to the main report formula, but it's not working. I've tried with either table in the main report, neither way is working.

The PO number field in the MS Access database is indexed, the field in pawcom is not.  The PO number is the only thing that uniquely matches the two records.  What else should I try?

Thank you

RE: Pawcom, Crystal Reports and Access

Write a formula that converts the number field to string, or vice versa, then use a subreport in crystal linked on the formula field.

RE: Pawcom, Crystal Reports and Access

Thank you.  That is what I was doing, but for some reason it wasn't working.  I rewrote it from the begining and it's working now, I'm not sure why.  I must have had something wierd in the original attempt that was messing it up.

Thanx again.
