Has anyone seen this error when trying to report from PeachTree using Crystal?  The DDFs are there, the DAT files are there and we are not using the Company DAT file.

RE: company not found in data path

Ken,

Are you using one of the GetPeach() functions?  If so then you need to include the company.dat file on your crystal report, as an unlinked table, and everything will work fine.  I believe the GetPeach() functions require the company table.

That is the funny part.  We aren't using those functions - just trying to do a simple 1-table report.  I have found some stuff on the Internet about a path in the INI file, and that the data folders have to be in the INI file.  I am just puzzled that the program would work, but not the reports.

Ken,

If you email me the report, I would like to see this and see if I can figure it out.

Now there's a role-reversal!

Sorry, I was wrong. A one-table report runs fine.

But if I add the Company table to the report, and then try to use one of the custom functions, I get the error mentioned above.  The company table is in the report, and exists in the same folder as the other tables, but apparently there is an INI somewhere that needs to have this path specified.   I will be working with the customer on Thursday and Friday to see if I can figure out what to do with the INI to get the error to go away.

Ken,

Check the database location of the company file.   I have noticed that Peachtree reports seem to sometimes forget their location.

Check the Peachtree initialization file for the correct datapath (usually found in the windows directory).

If they have multiple companies would the path include ALL of the companies?  If the datapath was missing a company, wouldn't the application complain when you tried to do transactions for that company?
