I hope someone out there can shed some light on the following problem.

We are using IP Office and have one ISDN30 connected to the system.

However, for no apparrent reason the system shows the ISDN channels reducing from 30 to 20 then 10 and there fore not allowing external calls and more importantly restricting incoming.

Disconnecting the switch seasm to clear down this problem but then a few days later the same thing starts happening.

Has anybody encountered a similar problem?

Maje sre that CRC checking is set correctly (usualy enabled in uk) then report this as a fault to your network provider.

Do not accept any "fobbing off" to check your system in ofer 3 years of alchemy I IPOffice maintanence (over 400 sites) we have never had an isdn card failure

The problem is because the E911 setting is enabled depsite the Locale being set to ENG. What you need to do is:

- set the Locale to ENU and send the config;

- Open the E911 System Configuration and under System Parameters ensure Enable E911 System is NOT ticked. (you will see that the E911 icon change from red to grey with a tick).

- Send the config.

- Set the Locale back to Eng and the send the config.

This will resolve the problem.

It is caused by dialling the numbers starting with 911. Either the IPO is set for 9 prefix or they dial numbers starting with 911. With E911 set the IPO trys to Dial Emergancy to 911 and attmepts each channel, locking up each channel as it tries. This can be seen b running a monitor trace.
