Using the 'DISPLAY' & 'DISPLAYLF' functions in Deskware

Trying to display HTML 'stuff' with the subject functions is quite 'buggy'...the cobolscript syntax checker rejects many perfectly good strings of Cobol and HTML. If I put all HTML into a file...cobolscript will successfully display the HTML on the browser with 'DISPLAYASCIIFILE' command where the subject functions failed to do so. Has anyone addressed the problem of getting 'program variable' content into such a standalone file when dynamically constructing pages that contain datafile/database content needing to be displayed ???
