Problem with Apple's new Optical Mouse

Problem with Apple's new Optical Mouse

Problem with Apple's new Optical Mouse

(OP)
I just got a G4 with the new Optical mouse. Occassionally when I am moving the pointer upwards and to the left, it will suddenly shoot downwards off of the screen. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks

RE: Problem with Apple's new Optical Mouse

Are you using a none reflective mouse mat or the desk?

RE: Problem with Apple's new Optical Mouse

Er yes I have just started getting the problem as well. On a dual G4 running 9.0.4. But not as bad. It will move off as if someone is else is moving it.

Could try unplugging it, from the keyboard and back in again.

RE: Problem with Apple's new Optical Mouse

Just to be silly, try using a cloth mouse mat and see if it cures the problem. That will test if it is a laser problem or a simple reflection issue...

I am using the desk, which is that fake laminate woodgrain. I tried using my cloth mousepad, but the mouse didn't seem to track very smoothly.

I will try your suggestions, thanks!

RE: Problem with Apple's new Optical Mouse

It is a reflection problem.
