Unity 300

Unity 300

We have now been shipped a few IP406 system units that have claimed to be Unity 300.
This version of firmware does not seem to operate correctly with UK ISDN.

Does anyone know where ther are intended for use?
Avaya & Crane have so far ben unable to explain this

(conversion to IP406 is a fairly simle process for anyone familiar with the com port monitor loader)

RE: Unity 300

We have had several IPO shipped with American ISDN cards in , when you try to default they always resort back to enu on the county code?

Aparently Avaya are using differnt production methods for the IPO and the QA is not as good..so bewhere

When defaulted an IPO "Should" set its contry code to match that of the pc running the manager aplication.

we suspect the UNITY 300 units may have been manufactured fro us in the USA, but have not been able to get Avaya to confirm this. They seem as confused as we were.

Has nobody got any ideas on this one,
FYI if the system has both CFG & firmware erased & a Bootp entry manualy created the system can be returned to uk spec.

RE: Unity 300

You should just be able to change the Locale from Enu to Eng. Although if the US use different firmware, which the shouldn't as the IPO is a global product, the a DTE default would be required.

RE: Unity 300

just setting the local to eng does not work, the system will not talk to UK spec ISDN.

We have been able to recover these units when necessary

AT-X2
AT-X3
(EREASE CONFIG)
ATX
(ERASE FIRMWARE - ONLY USE IN EXTREAM CIRCUMSTANCES)
& Then manualy creating a boot pe entry

Mac Addr (use tftp monitor to identify)
IP Addr 192.168.42.1
file name ip406.bin

I am just interested in finding out what we are actualy beeing delivered & where it is supposed to be used

RE: Unity 300

Thats funny, here in the U.S., I've been getting UK standard firmware.  OOPS, somebody got cornfused.

red, can you confirm what us Software is identified as against the system unit?

If this is unity 300 or similar you will have confirmed my suspicions
